The Power of Words

The Power of Words

By Elijah Tate

1. Words Shape What We Grow

Plant analogy — slow impact

Words are seeds. They either grow life or grow decay. They shape identity over time.

• positive words → growth
• negative words → decay
• silence → stagnation
• consistency → direction

Tie-in: John 1:1 — God's Word is identity; John 1:14 — God's Word enters reality

Message: “What we speak determines what grows in us and in others.”

2. Words Strike With Power

Grenade analogy — instant impact

Words hit like grenades. They can pierce, scar, and destroy — or they can break lies, break stagnation, and open the way for healing.

• your personal examples
• how harmful words wounded you
• how God used those moments for clarity
• how aligned words bring breakthrough

Tie-in: Hebrews 4:12 — God's Word divides soul and spirit

Message: “Our words can wound instantly or heal instantly — depending on alignment.”

3. Aligned Words Carry God's Power

Authority + responsibility

Jesus said we would do greater things — but greater things begin with greater responsibility. And responsibility begins with our words.

• speaking in alignment with God's nature
• praying with identity, not fear
• using words intentionally
• reflecting God instead of distorting Him

Tie-in: When our words align with God's Word, they carry clarity, truth, and life — not because they're powerful, but because He is.

Message: “When our words align with God's Word, they carry clarity, truth, and life — not because they're powerful, but because He is.”
