Scorion
By Elijah Tate
Death’s Cousin. Reaper’s Bane.
The Scorion is a colossal scorpion‑like predator feared across Eathron for its brutality, cunning, and lethal anatomy. Though not sentient like the Abanox, it is intelligent enough to stalk prey, set ambushes, and retreat strategically when outmatched.
APPEARANCE & ANATOMY
A Scorion possesses:
• a massive armored exoskeleton
• two crushing claws capable of pulverizing dragon bone
• a segmented tail ending in a high‑potency venom stinger
• a secondary internal claw blade that retracts and extends like a scythe
This hidden blade is the reason Scorions are often called:
“Death’s Cousins”
or
“Reaper’s Bane.”
Their acid glands allow them to spit corrosive fluid capable of melting flesh, armor, and even certain magical constructs.
HABITAT & BEHAVIOR
Scorions prefer:
• dense woodlands
• tall grasslands
• subterranean burrows
• abandoned ruins
They flatten their bodies against the ground or bury themselves entirely, waiting motionless for hours until prey wanders too close.
They hunt:
• small animals
• large beasts
• birds
• humanoids
• anything that steps within striking distance
They are solitary, territorial, and relentless once they commit to a kill.
USAGE & HARVESTING
Scorion materials are prized:
• claws → weapons, armor plating
• venom → paralytics, alchemical toxins
• acid → crafting solvent
• carapace → shields, magical reinforcement
Scorion meat can be used in crafting or ritual cooking,
but not all species or races can safely consume it.
