God's Heart: The Why Behind

God's Heart: The Why Behind

By Elijah J. Tate

Most believers know what God has done. Far fewer understand why He does it. God's Heart: The Why Behind is a theological work that reads Scripture as one unified story — held together not only by God's actions, but by His emotional truth: the grief, the longing, the discipline, the compassion, and the love behind every page.

Across the entire Bible, one pattern repeats: God loves. Humanity drifts. God warns. Humanity resists. God disciplines. Humanity suffers. God restores. Once you see that cycle, the Bible becomes unified — and God becomes personal.

Thread by thread, the book follows the images that carry that truth: separate threads braided into a single rope; salt water as truth and clarity — tears, sweat, the flood, and the water that flowed from Jesus' side; fire as grief, not rage; and the parent-child analogy that reveals discipline as the act of a Father who refuses to abandon His children.

It is not a devotional and it is not a commentary. It is a guide to the emotional architecture of God, written for readers who want depth and are willing to look past their own emotions to see through the lens of God's. The threads all lead to one sight: God is the Rope we need to hold onto.
