Aerythra

By Elijah Tate

Long before the Nexians forged the world of Eathron, they journeyed among the stars, carrying with them fragments of Earth’s legacy. The Nexians were not just creators—they were preservers, scholars of forgotten eras. When the destruction of Earth grew inevitable, they sought to capture the essence of humanity's wisdom, art, and language, ensuring that the heart of old Earth would live on in their creation.

The Nexians revered Earth’s ancient cultures, understanding that language was more than a tool for communication—it was a vessel of identity, history, and philosophy. As they began crafting Eathron, they envisioned a singular, unified script to bind its people across time and space. This script would be beautiful yet functional, cryptic yet expressive.

Drawing inspiration from Earth’s diverse linguistic and artistic heritage, the Nexians wove together three fundamental influences:

The Grace of Asian Characters: They marveled at the fluidity and complexity of East Asian writing systems. From these scripts, they adopted flowing strokes and radicals to capture the elegance of ideographic writing. Each symbol in the new language could convey layered meanings, reflecting the Nexians’ love for depth and nuance.

The Power of Pictographs: Inspired by the earliest forms of Earth’s communication—pictographs and hieroglyphs—the Nexians embraced the storytelling potential of symbols. These pictographs served not only as words but as vivid metaphors, allowing the written language to transcend mere words and evoke images and emotions directly.

The Mystery of Runes: The angular precision of Nordic and Celtic runes fascinated the Nexians, who saw in them a spiritual quality, as though the symbols themselves carried ancient magic. These runes became a cornerstone of their script, used to signify sacred ideas, powerful spells, or eternal truths.

The Nexians named this script “Aerythra”, meaning "the Voice of Winds," signifying its fluidity and ability to carry meaning across cultures and eras. The language became integral to Eathron's civilizations, connecting its people not only to each other but to the echoes of their ancestral home.

To preserve their intentions, the Nexians encoded a riddle within the script itself—a forgotten truth that would one day reveal the purpose behind their grand design. This enigma was hidden in the juxtaposition of pictographs, characters, and runes, challenging future generations to decipher the mystery of Eathron’s origin.

Thus, the language of Eathron stands as a testament to the Nexians’ vision: a bridge between old Earth and their boundless creation, a living legacy of humanity’s beauty and resilience.
